It is funny, this recipe posting thing. I know it’s my own recipe journal and I can pretty much post what I want, but then again - I do want to post something that you will actually like and want to make. Will X be too much work, will Y be way too weird or will Z be too boring?
This is strangely a recipe I debated sharing for all the wrong reasons - not is it boring or weird, but a sense of jealous propriety came over me. I caught myself sounding like Bilbo Baggins in Lord of the Rings: “Now it comes to it, I don't feel like parting with it. It's mine. I found it. It came to me!”
But sharing is something I truly love about the pastry community, whether it’s recipes, ideas, techniques or just happiness over somebody else doing something interesting. And so in the end it really was a no-brainer to kick Bilbo to the curb and share the recipe with you.
